THE KEY POINT
Check the purchase’s current stage and timer before accepting, cancelling or replacing a Steam offer. A payment record does not identify which offer is legitimate.
01
Read the order before acting on a Steam message
Open the purchase you actually made and save its sale reference, item details and current status. Establish whether the seller has accepted the sale, whether an offer has been sent and whether the record is already refunded.
Use the item’s exact finish, wear and special details when checking the offer. A second message containing the same item name is not enough to connect an unsolicited trade to this purchase. Follow the offer reference in the original order rather than one supplied by a stranger.
Explanatory diagram, not an interface screenshot or a completed transaction. Check the purchase’s current stage and timer before accepting, cancelling or replacing a Steam offer. A payment record does not identify which offer is legitimate.
02
If the seller has not accepted
CSFloat’s dedicated seller-acceptance help says you may cancel after 30 minutes if the seller has not accepted. Its cancellation page identifies My Trades as the place for that action. Check that the order still belongs to this stage before using it.
After seller acceptance, use the order’s current delivery timer. Do not substitute a number from an older walkthrough: the official FAQ and indexed homepage have shown different post-acceptance windows. This guide therefore does not advertise one universal seller-delivery deadline.
| Seller has not accepted | Read the order’s acceptance status and available cancellation action. |
|---|---|
| Seller accepted; no offer | Keep the order timer and use the missing-offer help branch. |
| Offer link is invalid | Check the linked order and avoid accepting a replacement from chat. |
| Order refunded | Verify the returned amount before attempting another purchase. |
03
If the offer link is invalid or no offer appears
CSFloat’s current invalid-offer help says an offer link may fail because the seller has not confirmed it with Steam’s mobile authenticator. It also says the purchase is automatically refunded if the seller fails to send the offer before the timer expires. Keep the site’s status and Steam’s result together.
Check Steam’s own offer history for the account linked to the purchase. If the expected offer appears, compare its participants and items with the order before confirming. If it does not, keep the absence and the displayed timer in your report; do not manufacture a replacement trade.
04
Read the cancellation consequence before using it
Read the consequence before declining an accepted order. CSFloat’s current cancellation help says declining the Steam offer after the seller has accepted produces a 4% fine and a warning on the buyer’s CSFloat account. That is different from cancellation before acceptance after the permitted waiting period.
A marketplace refund and repayment to the original payment method are different outcomes. The FAQ says payment-method refunds may be requested where applicable and are generally limited to deposits not spent on the site. Ask support about the specific record rather than treating a restored balance as money already returned to a bank.
- Keep the purchase and offer references together.
- Record the timer and exact error text.
- Use support linked from the real CSFloat site.
- Never send additional skins as a supposed verification step.
