November 3: achievement displays and brief black flashes
Valve’s November 3 beta notes include black-window-flash fixes and changes to completed achievement-set display and counts. The fixes concern how progress is shown, not an announcement that every game has newly configured achievement sets.
If a number looks different, record the game and the screen you are comparing. A library sorting view and an individual achievement page can show different aspects of the same account. Keep that context with a report.
November 5: friends list and preview fixes
The November 5 beta addresses a friends-list login failure, a patch-note preview regression and a Linux lobby crash. It also adds Big Picture time-zone entries for affected locations.
For a repeatable friends-list check, note whether the failure happens at startup and whether Steam actually signs in. A connection problem and an old client regression are different explanations; the patch does not establish the cause of every offline state.
November 6: a false Cloud conflict
The next beta fixes an incorrect Cloud Sync conflict in some games, with Monster Hunter World given as an example. It also addresses a controller firmware-update indicator and gyro power-curve settings.
A fix for an incorrect warning does not recover an overwritten save. If you face a real choice between copies, preserve the files and match them to your latest session before replacing anything. The Cloud guide below covers that decision.
Keep the channel in the support report
Record your client channel, version, operating system and exact failing step. Check the relevant announcement before choosing a comparison. Do not move between stable and beta as a substitute for identifying the problem.
When sharing screenshots, remove unrelated account details. Show the affected setting or warning and the result you expected. That gives support a useful example without exposing the rest of your account.
