Rust November Update: What Changed in Printed and Polished

Rust’s November 5 update changes progression and several everyday interactions. Start with the task you came back to do: learn an item, connect a controller or prepare a trip to Deep Sea. Each now deserves a fresh check.

Start with the system you are using

Blueprint resources now handle tech-tree progression, while scrap remains useful at the Research Table. The update also introduces the Uzi and initial PC gamepad support. Lighthouse repair starts the regular Deep Sea cycle. Those changes do not all ask you to do the same thing.

Choose one goal before gathering resources or changing controls. The linked guides separate each route, so you can answer the practical question in front of you without reading a full changelog first.

Keep the patch and your own result separate

Facepunch reports performance work using staging data. Treat those figures as the developer’s report, rather than a guaranteed improvement on your computer. A busy server, your location and your settings can change what you observe.

For a useful comparison, keep the same settings and repeat a similar route. Record the server and situation alongside any framerate result. A single quiet scene after an update is not a fair comparison with a crowded fight before it.

Use the right guide for the next step

For an unlock, start with the blueprint guide. For controls, test gameplay and inventory separately. For Deep Sea, check the lighthouse state before blaming the travel route.

Game changes also do not establish a change in Steam skin prices. Market Watch records its own dated source and method; a patch headline is not evidence that a particular skin rose or fell in value.
