Key-Drop Price Freeze: inventory value vs current price

Key-Drop freezes a skin’s on-site inventory value when acquired. Cases, Skin Changer and other unacquired items continue to receive price updates.

THE QUICK ANSWER

Compare your skin’s acquisition value with its own inventory record. A different current catalogue price does not by itself show that the frozen value changed.

01

An acquired skin keeps its recorded inventory value

Key-Drop’s Price Freeze article says a skin’s price is recorded when it is obtained and stays frozen in that user’s inventory. The rule covers items from cases, battles, Upgrader, Contracts and other features.

For an unexpected price, start with the particular acquired item. Keep its acquisition time and displayed value, rather than comparing only two matching thumbnails.

One skin name, two price contexts

  1. Already acquired

Inventory price fixed at acquisition under Price Freeze.

  2. Not acquired yet

Prices in platform features continue to update.

  3. External cash quote

A separate offer with its own condition, time and fees.

Original value comparison; no numbers or live quotations are implied.

02

Unacquired items can show a newer price

The same article says prices outside user inventory continue to update. It names cases, Upgrader, Case Battle, Contracts and Skin Changer among those areas.

You can therefore see different on-site values at the same time: an old acquired copy with a frozen value and a currently offered copy with an updated value. Check which side of that distinction each screenshot represents.

Two observations that need different labels
Stored skinAcquired on a recorded date; the inventory value is frozen.
Current catalogue itemNot yet acquired; the displayed value can have been updated.

03

Do not turn the frozen value into a cash-sale quote

The documented system concerns value inside Key-Drop. It does not establish what a separate marketplace, buyer or payment provider would pay for that skin.

When comparing an external quote, label its date, condition and fees separately. Keep the frozen inventory value in the comparison, but do not present it as guaranteed cash proceeds.

Price and storage answer different questions

  1. Value / Price Freeze

Which recorded value stays attached to the stored skin?

  2. Time / Equipment

Has the 90-day no-action policy applied?

  3. Evidence / acquisition

Keep the original date, item and value.

  4. Evidence / later action

Match any sale or exchange with its own record.

Use the two policies together when an old inventory item changes state.

04

Price Freeze does not remove the storage deadline

The Equipment policy still applies a 90-day limit to untouched skins. It says an automatically sold skin credits the value displayed when it was obtained.

A frozen valuation and a storage rule answer different questions: how the item is valued, and how long it stays stored without an applicable action. Review both if you are returning to an old inventory.

05

Show a change in the same item’s record

For a suspected Price Freeze error, give support the same skin’s acquisition reference, original value and later inventory value. Include times and condition names so another skin copy or a live catalogue quote is not mistaken for the original.

If the skin has instead been sold or exchanged, identify that action and its record. The reviewed article does not promise a way to undo a completed action or turn the frozen value into a different output.

BEFORE YOU CONTINUE

Quick checklist

  • Label each value as stored inventory, live catalogue or external quote.
  • Retain the acquisition value and date.
  • Compare the same acquired item when reporting a change.
  • Check the 90-day storage policy separately.
