THE QUICK ANSWER
Paste a numeric SteamID64, [U:1:account] or STEAM_0/1:Y:Z. The conversion does not verify account existence, ownership, bans or the account linked to another website.
01
Paste an identifier, not a profile nickname
The converter accepts a 17-digit SteamID64, SteamID3 written as [U:1:account], or SteamID2 written as STEAM_0:Y:Z or STEAM_1:Y:Z. Keep every bracket, colon and digit in the selected format.
Vanity names, custom profile URLs, full profile links, friend codes, group IDs and other account types are outside this form. If you only have a vanity profile, use Valve’s documented route to find its numeric ID first. Do not type a nickname into a numeric field and expect a lookup.

This tool keeps your input in this page. It does not upload it, add it to the address or save it. Downloads happen only when you choose them. Reset the form when you finish.
02
Read all four representations
The result supplies SteamID64, SteamID3, SteamID2 and the Account ID. SteamID2 is normalized to public universe 1, so an accepted STEAM_0 input can return a STEAM_1 representation of the same supported account number.
The implementation uses integer conversion for identifiers and limits the accepted Account ID to the supported positive public individual-account range. An accepted number is a supported format, not evidence that a profile exists or belongs to the person who supplied it.
| Entered SteamID2 | STEAM_1:1:12345 |
|---|---|
| Account ID | 24691 |
| SteamID3 | [U:1:24691] |
| SteamID64 | 76561197960290419. No profile or owner was queried. |
03
Use the result to compare identifiers carefully
Compare the output with the identifier shown by Steam or the service you are checking. A matching avatar or display name is a different observation and can change independently of the numeric ID.
A Steam Trade URL serves a different purpose from the account identifier. Do not paste a trade token here or assume a converted ID changes which account owns an order, balance or item. The form cannot relink an account.
An identifier is different from an address
Numeric SteamID
Supported input for this converter.
Vanity profile URL
Needs a separate route to reveal the numeric ID.
Steam Trade URL
Used for offers; its token is not a converter input.
This comparison prevents profile and trade links from being mistaken for the numeric formats.

Save the formats you need
Download steamid-formats.json for the four string representations. Keep large identifiers as text when moving them into another tool or spreadsheet so the digits are not rounded or rewritten.
No sign-in, Steam API key or account connection is required for this conversion. The tool does not save or upload your input; use Reset this form when finished. Use Steam’s own account information and the intended service’s support process for an actual ownership or linking question.

Quick checklist
- Use one of the three accepted numeric formats.
- Do not substitute a vanity URL, nickname or Trade URL.
- Read normalized STEAM_1 output as a format choice.
- Keep identifiers as text and verify the real linked account separately.

Implementation inspected: gtSteamID and the form/result handler. The supported range, BigInt integer conversion, normalization to universe 1 and JSON output come from the implementation. Valve’s current indexed Help text confirms SteamID identity and 17-digit common format. The Valve-hosted Developer Community is community-maintained and returned HTTP 403 directly; only indexed format context is used. No account, nickname, group, ban state or ownership lookup occurred.
