THE QUICK ANSWER
SkinSwap says a failed P2P delivery refunds the paid value to site balance. The original skin you sent is not returned under that rule.

01
Record what you give before choosing P2P
SkinSwap’s Trade for Skins guide permits using skins, balance or both to acquire Market items. Its specific P2P warning matters when the outgoing object is an item you would want back.
Record the exact outgoing skins, their quoted trade values, any balance contribution and the requested item. A site-value refund and return of an unusual personal skin are different outcomes.
Explanation: the original skin and refund are different objects
Outgoing skin
Its quoted value funds the requested P2P item.
Seller fails to deliver
The specific P2P refund rule applies.
Refund form
Paid-value SkinSwap balance, not return of that skin.

Read the specific non-delivery rule
For seller failure or cancellation in the described P2P flow, SkinSwap says the paid amount is refunded automatically to SkinSwap balance. It explicitly says the original outgoing skin will not be returned.
This means the refund preserves a quoted amount under the platform’s rules, rather than undoing the complete item exchange. Decide whether that is acceptable before sending a skin whose pattern, craft or personal history matters to you.

| Fictional added balance | 10 units |

03
Keep the outgoing and incoming stages separate
The guide describes outgoing skins being sent while P2P delivery remains pending until the seller sends an offer. The waiting state does not by itself mean the outgoing skin will be returned. Follow the original transaction and its displayed window.
If no item arrives, compare the pending purchase and refund entry instead of sending another skin to restart the process. A replacement purchase uses a new commitment and needs its own item check.
Explanation: non-delivery versus later reversal
No seller delivery
The guide describes automatic balance refund.
Accepted then reversed
The guide says the non-delivery refund does not apply.
Record required
Keep the platform and Steam references.

An accepted-trade reversal is a different event
SkinSwap’s P2P guide says accepting the item and later reversing the Steam trade does not receive the non-delivery refund; the system treats that purchase as completed. This is distinct from a seller never sending an item.
If a reversal already occurred, keep its Steam reference and the platform’s recorded outcome. Do not use reversal as a routine cancellation method or assume it converts the transaction back into the original outgoing skin.
05
Reconcile the refund in Transactions
The official history route is Profile → Transactions. Match the trade and any balance refund by their references, time and amount. Save the refund label so a balance credit is not mistaken for a bank payment.
If the expected credit is absent, give official support the outgoing trade, pending P2P purchase and refund state. State the remedy you expected from the published rule: paid-value balance credit, rather than return of an original skin.
BEFORE YOU CONTINUE
Quick checklist
- Save outgoing item values and balance contribution.
- Read the balance-refund rule before sending a special skin.
