THE QUICK ANSWER
Adding an item to the cart does not reserve it. Recheck availability and the total before paying, then keep the resulting order separate from item delivery.
01
A cart is a selection, not a reservation
Skinport’s buying guide explicitly says another user can buy a cart item before you proceed to payment. That explains why a previously selected listing can become unavailable without anything leaving your Steam inventory.
Keep the original listing reference when choosing a replacement. Do not assume a similar item automatically preserves the same float, pattern, stickers, lock or price.

Recheck the exact items before proceeding
Open the cart overview and compare item identities, quantities, availability and final total. If an item vanished, remove or replace it deliberately and review the changed total.
The older guide gives a cart-size limit, but this review does not treat that historical number as a verified 2026 ceiling. Use any current limit or error shown by the page instead of padding the cart to test it.
03
Use the documented direct-payment model
Skinport’s public overview and buying guide describe payment at checkout rather than topping up an on-site buyer balance. A seller bank payout is also a different direction of payment from this purchase.
Use only payment methods offered to the current account and region. No method list in an older tutorial guarantees that a particular button or approval will be available today.

04
If payment appears without an order, keep both records
A bank authorization or debit and a completed Skinport order are separate evidence. Save the amount, currency, time, provider reference and any order error. Check existing account and payment records before attempting the same payment again.
Do not infer a refund deadline from the cart article; it does not establish one for every payment method. Ask official support about the original payment and order reference if they do not reconcile.
05
Follow the completed order into item delivery
After a purchase is recorded, retain its exact item list and confirmation. Use the existing Skinport delivery guide to check when those items can be sent to Steam.
An unavailable cart item, an unconfirmed payment and a bought item awaiting withdrawal are different states. Naming the state accurately keeps a support case focused on the unfinished step.
BEFORE YOU CONTINUE
Quick checklist
- Treat cart items as unreserved.
- Recheck replacements and the changed total.
- Save an order confirmation separately from a bank record.
- Follow bought-item delivery under its own status.
