THE QUICK ANSWER
Crypto sent above a Stake deposit limit can sit in a withholding balance. It is separate from an ordinary available balance.
01
Read the active limit and held amount
Stake’s deposit-limit help describes a withholding balance for crypto deposited above the personal limit. When the daily limit resets, it says an amount equal to the limit is released from withholding.
Record the active limit, currency, available balance and withheld amount together. A confirmed incoming transfer and immediate access to all of it are different questions. Ask support to identify the withholding record if the amount cannot be reconciled.
Why a confirmed transfer may not all be available
Crypto arrives
Compare the incoming transfer with the deposit cap
Above the limit
Excess may enter withholding
Daily reset
A limit-sized amount is released under the published rule
This describes a personal limit hold; it does not diagnose a missing blockchain transfer.

Review the control without sending another payment
- Open the account’s Stake Smart or Responsible Gambling controls and locate Deposit Limits.
- Read the current amount and period. The reviewed help currently describes daily local-currency limits.
- If setting or reducing a limit, check the confirmation and keep its effective time. Verify that the account now shows the intended limit.

Limit changes have different effective times
A requested change and an active change are separate states. Keep the current limit in your records during any waiting period. Do not assume submitting a larger amount makes it available immediately.

A deposit cap and a loss cap measure different things
Stake documents loss limits separately, with daily, weekly and monthly periods. A deposit limit concerns incoming funds; a loss limit concerns the losses counted under that control.
For support, name the exact control rather than saying “my limit”. Include the transfer reference only if the issue concerns a payment you already sent. If you want all activity stopped, use the operator’s exclusion controls instead of treating a deposit cap as a complete account block.

Quick checklist
- Read the active limit, not only a pending change.
- Separate available and withholding balances.
- Keep a confirmed transfer’s reference if funds are held.
- Identify deposit versus loss limit.
