THE QUICK ANSWER
Choose a radio channel in the Boom Box settings for internet audio. Recorded cassettes and Internet Audio Streams have separate controls, and custom station lists belong to the server administrator.
01
Identify cassette playback or radio
Facepunch’s Voice Props explanation gives Boom Boxes two sources: recorded cassette audio and internet radio. Name the source that is silent before changing settings.
Keep the same device and source during a comparison. A tape playing on a portable Boom Box does not establish that a selected radio station is delivering an internet stream.

Select a channel and check internet audio
The developer’s radio route is to open the Boom Box settings and select a channel. Internet Audio Streams in Options controls that feature. Facepunch specifically recommends turning it off for content creators who need to avoid streaming third-party music.
If a channel is silent, save its name and whether other channels work. A selected channel can be unavailable independently of your cassette and general game sound.
03
A custom station is a server setting
Facepunch documents BoomBox.ServerUrlList for server administrators adding channels. It is not an ordinary player’s per-device text field for pasting an arbitrary link.
On a community server, ask the administrator about its published station list if the desired channel is absent. A web-page address, an audio stream and an administrator-provided station entry are different things.
Player controls and administrator controls

Select an offered channel and set local internet-audio playback.
Server administrator
Provide additional stations through the server URL list.
Deployed Boom Box
Use Audio Out for supported connected props.
This comparison prevents a player setting from being mistaken for server channel configuration.

04
A deployed unit can feed other audio props
The announcement documents an Audio Out IO port on a deployed Boom Box. If the Boom Box itself plays but a connected prop does not, describe the connection separately from the source.
Keep the device, source, selected channel and exact symptom together for support. Do not reinstall a cosmetic pack merely because one radio channel is silent.

Quick checklist
- Name the source: cassette or internet radio.
- Check the audio option for that source.
- Treat custom station lists as server configuration.
- Separate source playback from a connected prop’s output.
